    Sunset in the Forest

One of our top students, Maily painstakingly painted this piece on canvas stretched over a board. It measures 40cm x 60cm (15.75″x23.5″). Each careful brushstroke reveals hidden secrets of the forest. If you look closely, you can see birds flying in formation, an ornery bull refusing to move, and a man praying to monks.

    Elephant Farmers

In northeast Cambodia, you can find farmers who have elephants just as others might have oxen or cattle. Treated like a beloved pet, they’re given daily baths in a waterfall and pay their dues by pulling or carrying huge loads or taking tourists for rides around their neighborhood.

    Our Neighborhood

Above all, Cambodian’s rural scenery remains beautiful and serene. Steers roam freely, children run and play on the roads, and before the sun goes down, the smell of home-cooked meals in the houses lining the road halt your senses, making you stop to appreciate your current moment.

    Peaceful Seashore

The careful brush strokes revive a number of emotions from those who grew up by the sea. Many locals on Cambodia’s coastline rely on the sea for their livelihoods. At the same time, the sounds of the waves can provide a respite from the daily tasks of catching food for both their families and to sell at the local market.
